Wellbeing
At Toormina High School, student wellbeing and learning are at the heart of everything we do—it’s our central focus for every child. Guided by our motto, "Creating Our Future," we are passionate about fostering a safe, inclusive environment where every student can Thrive, Connect, and Succeed. Whether your child needs support with their mental, emotional, social, or physical wellbeing, we’re dedicated to helping them flourish both at school and in life beyond the classroom. Together, we’ll ensure your child grows, feels connected, and shines every single day!
How we support student wellbeing
Promoting the mental, emotional, social, and physical wellbeing of every student is an integral part of daily life at our school.
We achieve this by:
- Having teachers who create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
- Providing access to school counsellors, psychologists, and specialist staff
- Offering programs that encourage health, social skills, regular attendance, and positive behaviour
- Supporting students who are new to the school or transitioning between year levels
- Establishing clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- Ensuring staff build strong connections with each child and collaborate closely with families
- Developing personalised health care plans for students
- Maintaining open and honest communication about wellbeing and available support.
