2015 MAJOR AWARDS

At our 2015 Major Awards Assembly Blake Greenway was announced as the 2014 Toormina High School Dux, congratulations Blake.

Other awards included: the University of new England Vice Chancellor's High Achievement Prize to Tarsha Shipman, the University of Newcastle Award for Academic Excellence to Trung Bui, the University of Newcastle Faculty of Science & InformationTechnology Year 11 Excellence Award to Layne Murphy, the University of Newcastle Faculty of Science & Information Technology Highly Commended Award to Jarrod Blaxland and a Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Attendance to Kristy Fuller.

The award for Academic Achievement by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Student was presented to Ace Craigie. The Principal's Year 10 Scholarships were awarded to Nadine Hughes, Kaitlin Bland, Matisse Herdegen and Mitchell Biggin.  Bonville Sawtell Lions Neville Brown Memorial Scholarship was won by Travis Lee and Nadine Hughes and the Sawtell Rotary Citizenship Awards went to Hunter Bake-Smith, Matisse Herdegen and Erykah Kitchener-Waters.  The Rainy McDonald Award for Service to Legacy in Year 11 was presented to Nathan Pollitt and the Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership & Teamwork Scholarship went to Nadine Hughes. Jake Windows won a Novaskill award for school based Apprentices and Mark Gemitizza won the Coastal Wardrobes Prize for excellence in his work placement. The Zonta Encouragement Award went to Gypsy-Lee Musumeci and the Quote Caring & Sharing Student Award was presented to Shaylee Poole.  Jacob Robinson-McKay was awarded the Merle Paul Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Encouragement Award and debating awards were presented to Drew Gilchrist and Tarquin Jones. Year advisers handed out Citizenship Awards and badges for the first time in 2015, recipients were: year 7, Ee Ee Nuon, year 8, Georgia Elliot & Ella Burgun, year 9, Chloe Rann, year 10, Orion Parkes and year 11, Nathan Pollitt. 

Academic Excellence Awards were also presented to students in all subject areas, congratulations to all!
